Zoom Kindermuseum (Children’s Museum)

The Zoom Kindermuseum is a museum for children where they can learn about the world around them, they can ask questions, use their senses, examine things around them and most imporantly have fun. Children can discover the many “touch and try out” exhibits either individually or in teams, and in this way they learn how to interact with others. The Zoom Kindermuseum is the perfect place to take your kids during your stay in Vienna, where they will have loads of fun while learning about the wonderous world around them!

There are a variety of different exhibitions available at the Zoom Kindermuseum which are tailored directly to children’s needs and way of seeing things. This way is ofcourse very different to the way adults perceive the world, therefore the exhibitions are directly targeted for children between the ages of 0 and 14. However, parents are welcome to take part in the activities as well! This makes the Zoom Kindermuseum a place where the whole family can enjoy themselves and have fun together!

The Zoom Kindermuseum is made up of four different exhibition areas, the interactive Exhibition which is for children from 6 to 12 years old and teaches them about the areas of the sciences, art, architecture and culture in ways that engage all five senses. Another one is the Zoom Studio, where children from 3 to 12 work with artists and discover ways to paint, draw, glue, paste and mould things into shape. The Zoom Animated Film Studio is where children from 8 to 14 can learn about film making and play the part of screen writers, directors and cinematographers. Finally, the Zoom Ocean is a play area for children from 0 to 6 years old, where they can explore the colorful play area whose two areas are made to look like a an abandoned underwater ship.

The Zoom Kindermuseum is located in the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna,  an cultural area in Vienna where you can also find the MUMOK (Museum of Modern Art Ludwig Foundation Vienna), the Leopold Museum, and exhibition spaces like the Kunsthalle Wien. The best way to get to the Zoom Kindermuseum is taking the metro line U2 to the MuseumsQuartier station, or the U3 metro line to the station Volkstheater.

Visit Vienna and take your whole family to the Zoom Kindermuseum where they will have a fun filled, educational day in the Austrian capital! We offer many apartments in Vienna, but we would like to recommend the Muhlgasse 6 apartment, a spacious apartment big enough for the whole family!
